Mother’s Day – the day we take a step back, slow down and show love to the one who loved us before we were born. I’ll admit, I’ve always had a hard time picking out gifts for my mom, because how do I choose a physical object that can represent the amount of love and gratitude I have for the one person who always has my back, no matter what? That’s a lot of pressure! However, as we all know, the best gifts aren’t the most extravagant or the most expensive, they’re the ones that feel thoughtful and personal, chosen with love. Even knowing that, it can be hard to come up with the right Mother’s Day gift ideas, so I’ve put together some simple, heartfelt ideas that any mom would love. Just for you.
Mother’s Day Gift Ideas from the Heart

- Handwritten Letter or Card: I know it sounds cheesy, but I can tell you that heartfelt words from my child are probably my most coveted desire (she’s a teenager, I don’t hold out much hope).
- Homemade Treats or Favorite Meal: Baked goods, breakfast in bed, or even a trip out to her favorite restaurant can be such a special treat for mom. My mom loves fajitas from a particular Mexican restaurant, and I love to treat her to a meal there (it helps that we can get the fajitas for two and I get to enjoy them too).
- Framed Family Photo or Custom Art: We can’t help it, we love photos. A quality family photo in a cute new frame or a custom art piece, we eat that up. Bonus points if the art or the frame is handmade by the kids.

Experiences Over Things

- Mommy & Me Day Out: Moms love spending time with their kids, young or old. A picnic, ice cream date, or a trip to the bookstore may be just the ticket this year.
- Memory Jar: Grab any old jar hanging around the house and fill it up with notes and little memories from each family member.
- Gardening: Get your hands dirty and plant some flowers or a tree – she’ll think of you every time it blooms!
Remember, keep it simple and thoughtful. At the end of the day, what matters most is that you took the time to find the perfect gift for your mom – a gift chosen with love.
